digital footprint ideas...
1.Hazards Beach, if the sound of waves is okay for audio.
2.The top of Bishops Peak, although I think audio would be difficult, if not impossible.

Multimedia Project Ideas...
1.Guitar Hero- a feature on the interactive video game that has become heinously popular (among college students in particular). My roommates and other close friends have and play the game, so availability of sources would not be a problem and there are a lot of audio and visual opportunities.
2.Facebook- just a few years ago it didn’t exist; today it has become a part of almost every college student’s daily life. It’s addicting, time consuming, convenient, and is making it increasingly more possible to stay more up-to-date on people’s lives than should ever be considered necessary.
3.Waterski- the Cal Poly Water Ski Club has increased in size by 400% in the past 5 years. They now have a good boat, regular practices and they’re getting really good. I have several close contacts on the team, so it would be easy to get footage of the team in action.

New Media Is...
New media is a fast paced approach of news that makes information easy to consume in mass quantities. It is visually stimulating and presented in a short, user-friendly fashion that keeps the attention of our ever-decreasing attention spans. It makes news and information easily available any time and any place. New media allows the audience to decide which news they choose read, listen to or watch.
After reviewing the list of web sites, I think it is important to add that a main component of new media its interactive abilities. Not only can the audience pick and choose which stories they review, but they also have options to respond to stories, email them to friends, and decide the fashion in which they review the stories- most have options of print, still photos, video and audio. New media allows the viewer chooses how in depth they wish to receive a story. It uses multi media approaches to grasp the attention of the audience in a variety of ways, whichever way suites each individual viewer.
